Final Rendition Image(s)
To recreate Lauren Withrow's photo, I used my sister as the subject. My mother was on the side using a tool to spray the flour and my sister would throw the glitter into the air. In order to ensure I would get the shot in time, I had to use the continuous shooting mode on my camera. I made sure that the background was dark enough that the flour would show up distinctly. Some shots I took with my sister posing sadly as the original, and some shots I took with her smiling, to make my own version. In the editing process, I first made the image black & white. Then I darkened the background slightly and and took out any leaves in the background that stood out. Finally, I put a very light gray overlay on her shirt as it was too bright.
